Welcome to the Dawn Center

The Dawn Center (ጎሕ ማዕከል) is a visionary community development project of Gonder Hibret (GOH), a nonprofit organization dedicated to uniting the Gondar community worldwide, preserving its cultural heritage, supporting humanitarian and development initiatives, and strengthening connections between the diaspora and communities in Ethiopia.

Planned for Gondar, Ethiopia, the Dawn Center will be a permanent, multipurpose civic and cultural hub serving the people of Gondar and the surrounding communities. It will provide space for education and training, health and social support, youth development, cultural preservation, research, community dialogue, technology access, and diaspora engagement. The Center will also include a major events hall, library, museum, classrooms, offices, and welcoming public spaces.

Inspired by Gondar’s remarkable history and architectural heritage, the Dawn Center represents a new beginning—a place where generations can learn, connect, collaborate, and build a stronger future together. Through this project, GOH seeks to transform the knowledge, resources, and goodwill of Gondarians worldwide into lasting opportunities for the community.
